Emily Campbell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with individual adults and couples. Emily has experience in treating mood disorders, anxiety, relational concerns, LGBTQ needs, substance abuse and grief. She specializes in treating trauma and abuse (including PTSD) and has extensive experience addressing cross-cultural issues. Prior to joining Urban Balance, Emily gained her experience working in community mental health and independent private practice. Emily approaches therapy with a non-judgmental attitude and genuine compassion for her clients as she assists them in moving through obstacles that stand in the way of their personal goals. She believes it is important to honor the client as a whole person: psychological, social, and biological, while integrating the spiritual component if the client desires. She combines psychodynamic theory and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to help the client increase their insight and affect the changes they desire. Emily has a Master's degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.
